Educational & Travel Grants

  1. Full-time and Part-time Administrative/Professional Staff and Support Staff employees are eligible to apply for grants of up to $500 to cover the cost of:
      • Tuition/fees and materials, associated with successfully completed College credit courses
      • Membership fees (job applicable)
      • Conferences/Workshops (and applicable travel reimbursement)
      • Training/Certifications (job applicable)
      • Other job-related events
    1. The following guidelines will be applied when evaluating applications:
      1. Professional Development Funds must be exhausted before grant monies applied.
      2. First consideration of grant monies will be applied to those who have not used grant monies within the last 2 years.
      3. Reimbursement of grant monies will happen after the conference has taken place and/or successful completion of certification/training/college courses/etc.
      4. Employees currently on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) will not be eligible to apply.
      5. Software (software subscriptions)/hardware is not an eligible use of grant monies.
         
  1. Application for Grants
    To request grant monies, an Educational and Travel Grants application (PDF) must be submitted and processed by Human Resources.  Applications are processed on a first come first serve basis and must meet the minimum requirements.  Once the application has been approved, grant monies will be distributed while funds are available.
    1. At a minimum, the application will:
      1. Provide rationale to how this will apply to the employee’s job responsibilities and/or alignment with the College’s mission, vision, and values.
      2. Request supervisor approval.
    2. Deadlines:
      1. Applications will be open on July 1.
      2. If additional monies are left over, a second application deadline will be opened in December.
      3. Grant monies must be used July 1- June 30 of application year.

All regular and temporary full-time/part-time A/P and Support Staff.
